How To Use Gmail Phone Call Featue In Ubuntu

[blip.tv ?posts_id=4083766&dest=-1]

In this Ubuntu Video Tutorial we will be looking at installing the plug-ins necessary to use Gmail’s new Phone Call Feature in Ubuntu. This plug-in works universally across all major platforms, sorry Unix users you guys missed the boat on this one. Currently the plug-in is installed via a deb file provided by google, but I am sure that it won’t be long before we see the plug-in in a ppa. We took a look at it and were quite impressed. While all of the action has to happen inside your browse. We found the sound quality to be decent (compatible to Skype at its low) at best.  One feature we found useful was the ability to actually hook your Google Voice account to it so you could send and receive calls. I hope you enjoy this post, a more Ubuntu related post is due for tomorrow.
