[blip.tv ?posts_id=3986864&dest=74951]

In this Ubuntu Video Tutorial we will look at installing the Abiword word processor. I will then give you a quick overview of the Abiword Interface. Abiword creatures a simple clean interface that favors productivity about apparent features. Most of the more powerful features are hidden away in the menu bar. This powerful yet elegant word processor is bundled with Xubuntu and lubuntu as the default word processor because of its light pull on system resources. It offers decent support for the latest file types such as Doc and Odt.I first came across Abiword 4 years ago when I first discovered portable apps for windows. Since then I have been using either OpenOffice or MS Office 2007 PRO.

Recently I came across a review of Abiword on a fantastic looking blog called Open Source Software FTW . The blog offers intelligent simple and straight to the point reviews of open-source software, the blog looks quite professional. If you are a Linux user or just like quality software check out this blog!
