A Beginners Guide To Partitioning

In this Ubuntu Video Tutorial I show you the basics of partitioning your system. This is a very general guide that shows you the very simplest features of the Gparted software used by Ubuntu to partition disks in preparation for and install. I do warn you that Gparted doesn’t work well for resizing windows vista or 7 partitions and a windows based program such as Partition Wizard works best for this. Windows XP users shouldn’t have a problem.

Gparted is part of the Ubuntu Live CD, but you can also get it as a standalone CD as well.

Partition Wizard is a Windows Based Partitioning Program similar to Gparted it allows you to resize a Windows Vista, and Windows 7 partitions.
